Well my son borrowed the Commander last night and when I started it this morning the check engine light is on. First time I have seen it in 17k miles. Light is steady. Owner manual says it could be lose gas cap or bad gas ect. Anyone got any ideas on what the ect might include.

I will check the gas cap at noon and I will call him to see if there is anything he did that might cause it to be on. LOL Doubt that it is gas cap as it shows 77 miles until empty.

If you turn the key from the off position to on three times fast and then leave it on it should display any codes that are stored. Then just look up the code to get an idea. My wife just called me and said our light was on so I will be doing that when I get home today.

Dealer reset it. Gave code of vapor leak possibly loose gas cap. Has't happen since. One dealer said it will reset after 15 off/ons other said after 3 trips of at 35 miles. Who do you believe?
