China has taken the step of suspending imports of current model Jeep Wranglers as a result of a series of fires.

The country's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) took the step after an investigation which discovered that problems with the vehicle's automatic transmisison, could result in it catching fire.

The administration also contacted Chrysler, asking the automaker to find the root cause of the issue and fix it, stating "manufacturers and importers should take precautionary measures for the vehicles involved to ensure consumers' safety."

And yet, in the US no Wranglers have been issued with this recall. No doubt some will also be giggling at the very notion that China takes 'consumer safety,' so seriously, especially after numerous reports of defective automotive parts and other consumer products originating in that country.

You think that's bad....just wait til they want back all the money our gov't has borrowed from them by selling bonds...we'll probably have to give them California then (please let Nancy Pelosi be there when we do). :) As far as not allowing Jeep's into the country, smells like protected trade and games to me.

Those dirty ChiComs! That murderous, kleptocratic, genocidal gerontocracy in Pekin can go straight to the lowest ring in hell for all I care. As for them having the temerity to insult us by saying our Jeeps don't measure up, let them first stop poisoning the milk, toothpaste, toy paint etc. they sell us before they dare raise their heads and accuse the US of A of shoddy craftsmanship. Time is short before we settle those commie bastard's hash.

Jeep's reek of quality and craftsmanship which scares them. If American's all got together and stopped buying Chinese made stuff their economy would grind to a halt within a year. If they stop buying Jeep's, we just have more to pick from here...screw em!
