That is quite the enclosure for the speakers in the back!!! I’m gonna guess you don’t use it for anything else lol.

Other than that, can’t answer your questions. Haha

I've been running Cobra 25 & 29 radios in my dump truck for years now and I have been running a 29 LTD for the last 3 or 4 yrs. with a 102 " whip antenna and its doing its job with out any trouble. Just like anything Cobra radios have really cheapened up but it still works and its a good basic radio. The environment my Cobra 29 lives in is a dirty dusty one so I guess that says something about Cobra radios it seems like after a year or so they tend to start losing their receive signal but like I say I think that's because it lives in a dirty environment. I would have to say the Cobra is as good as any radio out there and it would probably serve you well.

@BadJuju Yes, I must have my music, there are two batteries in the trunk area now on the side of the enclosure followed by a full amp rack - Unable to see out of the rearview mirror. However, the side mirrors are the ones I use to navigate around town ya know! thanks for the comment!

Hey hey Mark - @oleblu72 Thank you for the update and your experience with the radio. Going to pick one up in a few days to see what it can do along with the antenna. Does the size of the antenna have to be so large? What about a smaller one - more effective/efficient if possible...I still need my Jeep to fit in the garage.

No DB it doesn't have to be as big as the one on my dump the reason I run one like that is because the truck does a pretty good job of blocking the signal because its so big. You do have to decide how you plan on using your radio and how far you want to get out. Its best to have a reflective surface underneath the antenna because you need the radio waves reflect when you transmit but this isn't always possible a good case would be my truck there just isn't any place to install it to get that reflective surface. If you don't plan to use it all the time like only when your off roading you could just get a magnet mount antenna would work just fine it would save you from having to drill a hole in your body for the coax . If you can't find anything at your local truck stop Ebay has some sellers that still sell cb equipment.

I just installed a Cobra 29 MAX with a base loaded Wilson 1000 62" whip magnet mounted to the roof of my Commander. It will have it's first road trip this weekend, so I can let you know how I like it.

You ought to get out pretty good with that combination if you have the antenna in the middle of your roof you would have a good reflective surface for the antenna. Next get yourself a 1000 watt bilateral heater for your radio and you can talk all over the place plus reek havoc with anyone that's close to you with a cb radio.

Here's a picture of my little helper. Never hurts to have a little fire in the wire. Never know when you might want to reach out there and touch someone.

It's at the rear of the roof. Since I tend to put stuff on the rack up there I needed to have the center clear.

I am assuming that's a signal booster?

Transmit and receive booster. That's what's on the left. The right is my Inverter for running assorted 110 volt appliances.
