Same problem started a couple of weeks ago. Dashes on compass, air bag light, blower out. Comes back on its own after several minutes. It does happen while ambient temp is higher. Let me know if you find a solution please.
2007 Commander 3.7L.
Yes it's a tricky one. Especially since its intermittent and comes back on its own. Not sure if its a wire grounding out. I did come across this same problem on another forum and they thought it was linked to the key and ignition module having corrosion on it. Still searching.

I have a 2008 5.7 HEMI Overland that is having the same issue. Looking over wiring diagrams It looks like either a CAN B issue or a LIN BUS issue. I'm leaning towards a CAN B issue as I was able to pull a U0019 code from the system. I plan to try and dig into this a bit more, and I will keep everyone updated on my findings.

We ha a lot of electrical issues when we first purchased the commander it turned out they put a new ignition switch in and still had issues they sent to a 2nd dealership to troubleshoot after two weeks they said they didn't know then they called said they found it it was the box for the wiring harness had shorted out that was the problem. We had purchased a new battery everything. All else check that also.

I have the identical problem. I checked codes. There were many indicating various components lost communication with the parking assist module.
@CSegroves ;

You may consider a trip to the dealership & pay the $120.00 to have the park assist module tested; It could need to be replaced.

I bought the lifetime warranty when I purchased my Commander. I did ask the dealer to look at the problem when last there. They could not replicate, so did not troubleshoot further. My problem has happened every time I drove for the past couple months, until after The heavy rains this weekend. Probably coincidental by curious. If I could locate schematics I may be able to dig deeper.

The only mechanical problem I have had was a leaking water pump. Not bad for 240000 miles. I have had to replace the drive train computer twice (intermittent knocking and engine dieing). It took the dealer over 3 months to find, since it only happened when the engine/transmission was hot. I'll post the cause when I find.

@CSegroves ;

Have you checked all of your fuses?

I've attached some information you may want to take a look at;

I'd also recommend disconnecting your battery and then disconnecting & reconnecting all of your harness connections going into your PCM to ensure those connections are solid and making good contact;

Leave the battery disconnected for at least 30 minutes and then reconnect the battery;

This will perform a hard reset of the PCM;

Excuse me if this problem has appeared on here already, I have done some extensive searching but cant seem to find this same problem anywhere.

I have been experiencing intermittent issues with my 2008 Commander. This morning I had my air conditioner on and all of the sudden it shuts off, the blower and all just died.

I began to look at my dash and my compass just has "--" where the indicator would be and then my airbag light came on. I was trying to find a decent place to pull over and check things out when after about 30 seconds after everything quit, it all came back to life as if nothing had happend before.

I am thinking that its almost like a relay or a resistor getting hot but at the same time I am not sure how the blower, air bag, and compass could all be tied into the same problem.

If anyone has any help it would be greatly appreciated!
I am having the same exact issue have u figured out what it could possibly be? Please let me know I am desperate

I have not. The dealer can't find it either. They suggested to jiggle the key when it happens. The ignition switch is sometimes not fully engag

Hey all! I’m having the same problem and have no clue as to what is the fix. I heard someone say it was the Junction Box under the steering wheel but not sure if thats the fix. I’ve checked all fuses, it really sucks because summer is on its way and it gets really hot here 100+ F°. Let me know if yall find anything please!

I am having the exact same issue! Has anyone found a solution? My blower stops working, my air bag light comes on, and I see 2 dashes on the compass, all happening simultaneously. All issues are also randomly resolved simultaneously too. I have a 2008 Jeep Commander 2WD V8 4.7l

I’m thinking of the “Junction Block” its a fuse block that has many fuses and relays. I’m gonna replace it here soon within 2 months, i’ll keep you guys updated.
