Newcomer inbound so I might’ve posted this twice on accident….I Have read numerous forums and watched a ton of videos on this topic but have not heard an engine like this one before…

Check Engine Light:
P0127
P0325

Things I have tried:
- Removed drive belt and listened for any bad Pulleys, Idlers, etc… (No change in noise)

- Let engine idle in gear while disconnecting Ignition Coils 1-by-1 listening for a (No change in noise when disconnecting each of the 6 ignition coils)

- Haven’t dropped the oil pan yet because this is the 4x4 and I would have to lift the engine to remove…

Is this his worst nightmare?? (Rod Knock or Spun Bearing)
… or is it something more fixable like broken timing chain guides/tensioner??
Maybe it jumped timing??
It’s hard for me to pinpoint what the sound is…

The Engine knocks loudest while at idle, then gets quieter when accelerate.. but still noticeable.

Thanks in advance, Much appreciated.

Here’s a Video of the sound

Timing chain slap - not a bad job at all to fix - I would do the whole kit - full timing chain - do it soon and you can save any major trouble.
I have done the 3.7 and 4.7 - not sure what engine you have.

My oil light just came on…. Does that change your assumption about timing chain slap at all??
