i got an '08 commander with a 4inch BDS lift , 31's and wheel spacers. i dont want to have to shut off the ESP everytime i get in my jeep. is there a way to ground a wire or something so that the ESP is always off. like someway to fool the jeep into thinking i have pressed the ESP off switch. yes i searched but couldnt find an answer. any help or insite would be great.

you can basically do the same thing with the commander.

in the manual it says to push the ESP button while in Park for 5 seconds to disable the system. your message center will tell you the ESP has been disabled.

the only thing that is annoying is as soon as you turn off the engine it resets itself and turns the ESP back on.

There is a company called noesp that makes something for the Dodge/Chrysler LX platform. While I personally would not do it, that is entirely up to you.

Here is a link to their site. I'm not sure it will work on the Commander but it is a good bet that it might.

well from other posts ive read here. the AEV one seems to only work for superlifts, and mine is a BDS. the no esp mod still requires you to turn off esp when u start the jeep. i can try to unplug the sensor, do any of you know where it is?

The AEV one is designed and supported only for the Superlift setup but this does not mean it won't work with your setup too. If you are running about 4" of lift it should work pretty much the same as it would on the Superlift. If you are running less than 3" of lift your ESP should not be kicking on just because of the ride height / center of gravity. If it is, you need to figure out why.

I think you should contact AEV for the specifics, but I know there is a way to disable the system by pulling the sensor wires or relays or something like that. Just don't get into a situation on the highway where the ESP could help you.
