Gang, I've searched the subject but want to make sure I've got it right -

I want to jack the '08 Commander and place it on jack stands to do a tire rotation.

Can I use the rear the differential to lift the jeep, and place the stands under the axle tubes? (It would be embarrassing to crush something and have to have it towed back to the dealer...) :eek:rangehat:.

Any suggestions about the best placement for the jack and jack stands would be appreciated.

There's no lift on my Commander and, while I can change the oil without jacking the vehicle, rotating the tires without jacking the Jeep seems to be beyond my current job skills .

It's probably more time / cost effective to have the local tire shop do the job but I like working on the Jeep (as long as there isn't 12 inches of snow in the driveway).

Thanks!

Thanks Smitty.

Any advice about the front?

Project has been postponed to next weekend due to honeydo issues:eek:rangehat:.

I believe the stands would go under lower control arm. Check the owners manual, it's in there also.
Yep, found it. Thanks Smitty. Owner's manual didn't mention a jacking point but I'll figure that out next Saturday. Honeydo list permitting.

:)
