I'm still pretty new to Jeeps (full size GM trucks) but need to go some maintenance on my girlfriends 06 Commander. It has 110,000 miles and I'd like to change all of the transmission fluid/filter, front and rear diff fluid and have a couple of questions. It is currently at the dealer for a recall and we're picking it up today so I can't look under it right now.

What type fluid should I use for the diffs? 75W-90 or 150W-90?
Do I need any additive?
What quantities do the front and rear take?
I'm assuming the front has a drain and fill plug?
Does the rear have a gasket or do I need to buy RTV?

For the transmission, can I do a full flush by pulling the return line from the trans cooler? I did this on my Sierra Denali and it worked great...just dropped the pan, replaced the filter, then filled it up. Next I pulled the return line and would start it to push the old fluid out, shut it off to refill with new fluid and after 14 quarts the entire system had new transmission fluid in it.

Do guys to that to the Commanders as well? Which is the return line?
How much transmission fluid does the entire system hold?

It has the 4.7L V-8, I'm not sure if that makes a difference on which transmission it has.

I know it's a million questions so thank you in advance.

and most people here drop the trans pan and let the fluid come out from there when they change the fluid cause they also change the 2 filters in there, they recommend that only mopar trans fluid be used.

type of diff fluid 75W-140

Additive: if you have QD2 you need it front and back if QT1 you might need it in the back but I'm not sure?

Front:1.7 L (57.5 oz.)
Rear:2.07 L (70 oz.) The capacities are for QT1

Yes the front has a drain plug on the bottom and a fill on the top you need a pump to put the fluid in cause theres not alot of space.

The rear requires a RTV sealant most people use the red stuff but there is a special kind for diffs if you want that one.

make sure 4low works after the recall!!!! because there has been lots of problems with the recall.

Also change the transfer case fluid with 2 qts NV245 from Dealer.

Dropping the pan to change the trans filters leaves over half the fluid. Has anyone flushed the complete system on a Commander the way I described above? Worked like a champ on my truck.
