They do have something called Permatex The Right Stuff, which requires no cure time. But it didnt specifically list differential covers as a use.

I'd be with good finger tightening the bolts, letting it set for an hour, then tightening to spec and waiting a few hours to fill with fluid. I'm sure I could find a few things to help my parents with around the house while this sets up. The 24 hours just seemed excessive!!

Well, reading thru your link @patf111 it does list differential covers on there as a use. So maybe that's the way I'll go just to be sure it's cured!!

I believe your Transfer case should be serviced every 20,000 miles.

@dar124 i have not seen that at my shops, so wonder if its an order items but would have saved me some time

I had an appointment to get it fixed at the dealer but came down with Covid. I'm over it now and need to get a new appointment.
