I'm new to this forum so pardon any mistakes. I have an '06 Commander with a 4.7 liter. The problem I am having is a grinding/metallic type of noise from front of engine when running, seems like it is related to a pulley. It's not overly loud, but loud enough. I removed the serp belt to try and pinpoint the source. All the pulleys on the compressor, altenator, p/s pump, and tensioner seemed quiet and smooth. The idler pulley however, was noisy so I replaced it, but that did not solve the issue. Is it possible that it is water pump related (no coolant leaks though)?
