Can anyone tell me the parts difference between the heavy duty cooling package for the 4.7 V8 and the cooling parts that come with the Towing Package for the 2006 Commander? My Mulrooney (or wahtever) sticker says my 4.7 comes with the heavy duty engine cooling. After looking at the 4.7 V8 powertrain of my Commander and following the routing it does appear that there is an oil cooler and transmission cooler for the 4.7; if true, then the only difference between the two is the wiring harness, bezel and reciever that come with the tow package.

The 2007 4.7 does not list heavy duty engine cooling as standard with the 4.7.

I'm not entirely sure what your question is. I do have an '06 4.7L Commander Limited. The window sticker does NOT list a heavy duty cooling system. The vehicle did come with the "Trailer Tow Group IV" package with a listed price of $255. I'm under the impression that the "Trailer Tow..." package includes the heavy duty cooling system.

I don't remember a heavy duty cooling package being available by itself on the '06's. Perhaps you are right in that ALL Commanders with the 4.7L come with this package whether you order the towing package or not.

I bought a base model where the 4.7 was optional. This is what the window sticker has printed on it under options:

4.7-Liter V8 MPI Engine $1340
Quadra-Trac(R) II Active Full-Time 4WD
3.73 Axle Ratio
Heavy Duty Engine Cooling
