I’m in NM with a friend who owns a 2010 qt2 hemi v8. He had an rear Aussie locker added. It makes a terrible clunking noise when you turn and kinda jumps. In reverse, it is absolutely horrendous.
He just had it installed in Oklahoma before we left for this trip.

The guy who did it told him it was completely normal and would get better.

I don’t know jack about this stuff but I know when it feels like the axle is about to rip off and the vehicle is jumping and the clunking noise is so loud literally everyone around stares like we are insane, that something isn’t right.

He thinks it just needs breaking in.
Which one of us is right?

thanks in advance!

I installed a loch right in my commander, ive had them before. They operate pretty much the same way. Yes they are loud. The only thing you can do to keep the noise down is let off the gas pedal to take the pressure off the side couplers and it will not be as bad
