I took my Commander dune bashing the other week for the first time ever. After a day of abuse I took a highway home when I noticed sound and vibration coming what seems to be the drivetrain issue. It sound just like the exhaust leak but it only does that under acceleration and load. It seems its not gear related as the sound and vibration is constant, the faster the louder it gets. Bearings have no play. Front driveshaft is missing a boot.

Could I simply remove my driveshaft and try driving it to help me diagnose if it has anything to do with front axles or bearings?

Had my tires balanced the other day hoping it was a budge in the tire but its not.

I don't participate here much but I would really appreciate some help. Thanks!

I had what sounded like and exhaust leak when I bought my commander. Took it to my mechanic and he said it was a wheel bearing. Might be your problem too.
