Mine is noisy too. Since new. I recently switched to mobile 1 full synthetic but no change. I'd like to disable the 4cyl mode and will after I get the programmer. I can't imagine it's good for the engine especially since fuel is a lube on the upper rings. I have checked mpg resetting it while in 4cyl mode, can't see that it helps at all.
I hope the programmer will let me disable it.
Thought about just getting a cat back exhaust but those are high, drown out the noise lol
