how do you use a hi-lift jack on a commander because it is plastic around the edges? I think Ive seen them mounted on commanders racks before. if hi-lifts dont work what jack do you recommend for a 4in lifted commander?

They're basically useless unless you have some sliders like the 4xguard that have jacking points. Otherwise your only other option is the receiver; which, btw, is not a good idea if you're taking a tire off and/or working under the vehicle since its not sturdy.

For the rear, the 4" lift doesn't matter, you jack up the vehicle from the axle which isn't that much higher than stock.

For the front, just screw together 2 10" lengths of 4x4s and use that as a base.

If you have 4xG stuff, you can potentially have points on all 4 side of the vehicle for a highlift jack.

the rear sliders have actual hooking points, as do the side guards. The front Matrix can be used also if needed. Keep in mind if these points will have some "finish" damage if a jack is used on them just from the stress of the situation.
