Re: HID Kit

Ok i've been doing research since i've posted, you can actually goto like HIDplaza.com, and xenonking.com, and just find the fitting for the commander which is 9006. i think that should work I am about to order a pair for myself once I get them and install I will post pics and installation tips.

Hmm, they say nothing about being DOT approved. If your state has safety inspections these lights might cause problems.

Also, I wonder how well they work with the SmartBeam headlight system?

Just wondering if you got pulled over how much trouble the police could give you about them? Would they know they were not factory spec?

Let us know if the SmartBeam works ok and which kit you picked.

Re: HID Kit

well the cops in texas aren't that brilliant trust me i use to drive a rice rocket (honda prelude )
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=110009863265&ih=001&sspagename=STRK:MESE:IT

i know ur wondering why a commander after having that car but i just loved it the moment i saw it.

anywho i don't think the cops will be able to tell if it came factory or not cause most new vehicles do have the H.I.D. lights factory so i doubt they will question it.

and I will let everyone know if the smartbeam works once installed and which one i ordered with pics and everything.

I would think the 6000K kit would be the one that would have the best tradeoff between color and distance.

Are you going to swap both your high and low beam bulbs?

Re: HID Kit

Check the owners manual... there is supposed to be a way to put the Smart Beam lights intoa demo mode. This may help determine if the HID will cause issues. ;)

SmartBeam Demonstration mode:
The SmartBeam system has a demonstration mode that can be activated by pressing and holding the Auto button on the rearview mirror. The system will ramp up the high beams and then back to low beams, along with turning the high beam indicator on and off.

Will be cool to know how much better they light up dark Texas streets :)

Re: HID Kit

You probably didn't take before and after pics from the driver seat?

I would be curious to see the light output/coverage over the road on low beams with these.
