Hi - a lot of info here so I'll need to just cut to the chase with my question. I want to know if I need to update my Nav map data and the MyGig software. FIrst, How do I determine if this is necessary? From the map data standpoint, it seems like my nav comes up empy on POIs quite often (like restaurants or recently a Blockbuster video store that was around the corner). Is this even an indication that I need to update?
Next is how - I found a website from jeep.com for the vendor of the nav data - I assume - they want $199 for an upgrade. Is this my only option? As far as MyGig software, what is the benefit of updating and how do I know if I need to?

What you found is the source for Nav updates. It is too expensive for my needs. They put out an update annually I think. I just use my smart phone for finding POI's. But the map has been accurate enough for me for road trips.

I can't help you on the MyGig, I don't have it.
