has anyone taken their commander down those long dirt roads on north rim of the grand canyon ?
Claims are made you need high lift, but I made it down to the toughest overlook with my 98 outback having a 1 1/2" australian king spring lift kit on it.
I recomend yokohama geolanders, from 4 sets, used on 10 trips around country with the outback.
Any recomendations on tire brand & size for commander with a 2" strut top lift ?
Is that enough to get me down most roads in wilderness areas ?
Any neccessary modifications that I should be aware of ?

i think you would be fine compared to the outback. the only issue ive found is high centering on deep rutted 2-track due to limited tire size and diff heights.
I hear the dirt road in the area can get almost impassible during hard rains no matter what kind of tire you have. You'd be fine with pretty much any tire.
