I also have another 1965 VW Beetle project with no pictures that I'm currently working on. It will be a full build up so, it will take a while before I get it complete.

Rear grab handles........

O.K. so i finally got my handles installed. I'm going the no chrome route so, i went ahead and color match my handles and I personally think they look great. I did all the work myself and here is a quick over view.

Chrome handles before paint....

Materials for the job.........

After masking and sanding I etched primed.....

After 3 good coats of etch, I used build up primer....

After 3 good coats of that primer I sanded till I got the smoothest to the touch and sprayed the color/clear...

Here are my install pics and final "look" I was going for....

I had to use my own nutserts as the ones that came with the kit suck and stripped out...

Here are side by side pics of the nutserts...supplied in the kit on top and the ones I used on the bottom.... I used alluminum nutserts with stainless screws....

20 minutes later bada bing bada boom......

That's it for now......So, what do you guys/gals think?........I think they are baddass!

That is a different look. I left mine chrome (I like the touch of bling they add) and I have seen them painted flat black but yours are the first set I have seen painted body color... very unique!
