I bought an aftermarket wood grain trim kit from ebay to replace the factory nickel satin trim. When holding up the new center console trim, I noticed you can see some of the nickel around the edges. Does anyone have ideas on how to cover up the nickel?

Depending on how much is showing when you have back together, maybe you won't need to do anything. But you might try using an artists paint brush with the right color paint if it is visible when replaced but not a large area.

Get a small tipped paint brush, and some Testors flat black enamel paint for models. When you install each piece, try and center them as much as possible. Rub the paint in the crevice with the brush - use just enough to cover the metal. Be patient: it might take a second coat. Wipe any excess off with a Q-tip, rotating it as you go along edge. I didn't use gloss because I didn't want to draw my eye to it. The flat black paint hides any visible metal. Good luck. :eek:rangehat:
