Well, I don't think DCX is resurrecting the Cherokee this soon. Looks like a Patriot to me.
It's not... it is the 2008 Liberty. Check out the Jeep web site, there are photos of it completely undesguised. The front end is essentially a baby Commander, the back end essentially an upgraded Cherokee. All in all, a very nice mid-size package that is much much more respectable in design compared to the KJ.

And the spy guys probably did do their homework. The Liberty is sold as the Cherokee outside of North America. The worldcarfans.com web site is based out of Finland.

This is an old article (06) so no one knew then that it would be replacing the old liberty with this one.
No... like I said in my last post... The article is accurate. That site is based in Finland, where the Liberty is sold as the Cherokee (as it is almost everywhere outside of North America).

Yeah, it's definitely an early spy photo of the new Liberty. I saw the real thing a few months ago at the New York International Auto Show. It had the fabric roof and everything....

Wow, testy. I guess you didn't research more than one article on WCF where its also mentioned as the new Liberty...Like here:

http://www.worldcarfans.com/news.cfm/newsid/2070404.012/country/acf/Jeep/2008-all-new-jeep-liberty-debut-in-ny

They pull info from many places. WCF doesn't really write alot of the articles. The article has NOTHING to do with where WCF is hosted; rather, it's from where they pull the info - which does happen to be a European site.

So yes, it is discussed in this article as the Cherokee but in MANY other articles it's discussed as the Liberty. It has NOTHING to do with the site being hosted in Finland. It's all about where they pull the article from.
