If you visit the Jeep web site www.jeep.com and click on "build," there is now an option for a 65th anniversary edition that defaults to "Jeep Green Metallic Clear Coat."

Is this a new color option for Commander?

I believe the old brochure listed the Deep Beryl Green, which was kind of a weird light sparkly green color.

Maybe the new green color looks better?

What else does the 65th anniversary edition have besides a different color and badge emblem? Any additional features?

For grins, I built at 65 Anniversary model on the Jeep web site to see what comes with it: apparently, sunroof and the premium sound system are "thrown in" at no extra charge.

Leather does not appear to be an option....

Hey gitchuone, Any problems with the after market sunroof? My dealer is installing one for me next week and I am a bit concerned.

The aftermarket sunroof I saw at my dealer looked like crap.
The glass did not fit well on the roof as there were big gaps.
The headliner looked a little messed up also. Overall did not have a factory apperance. I would not do it.

I have the 65th in Jeep green and it's very nice.

I was planning on waiting a year to get the XK when my Liberty lease was up but I was in the dealership about 3 months ago getting a part for my wife's Cherokee and I walked by the XK in Jeep green and stopped in my tracks.

It was also the cheapest XK on the lot with a nice feature set. An hour later I surprised my wife with a new toy!

Get lots of compliments on the color as well.

I have a black 06 65th anniversary commander. The salesman recommended it as the best deal when it comes to options per dollar. I know that my exact model came with front heated cloth seats, commandview (three sunroofs), chrome exterior moldings, mini diamondplate accents to the dash and door panels, metallic wheels, adjustable pedals, and an upgraded radio (not speakers) that holds six discs and reads mp3s. These are the options included in the package over the base model and "according to the sticker" at no extra charge.

I agree toohot.

The feature set was between the base XK and the limited and the price was below the base! I wasn't familiar with the 65th edition at the time and decided I didn't want to pass up such a good deal. For the $$ it was my favorite XK on the lot and the cheapest. I couldn't really understand why that was.

I am still very happy with the vehicle and the deal!

I agree, for the money the 65th was a terrific deal. I got a limited but bought it used. If I was buying new the 65th is probably what I would have chosen.

I wouldn't have bought the Commander if it weren't for the 65th Edition. I wanted a V8, the tow package, and Command View as my options. When I found out you had to get a higher trim package just to get the sunroof, I was very much not interested. I'm not spending $2500 on a sunroof. Then the 65th came out and gave me Command View and some trinkets I didn't care about for $800, it was too much to pass up. I could do without all the chrome but I abolutely love my 65th Edition Commander (mine's silver). The first month they had deep discounts and 65ths available was the Commander's 2nd best sales month. (The best was November where they had even deeper discounts and higher residuals on leases.) I don't think that's a coincidence.
