I was hoping for the pepole out there with the 4.7 if the jet stage1 or 2 is worth it.I have a [email protected] filter with stock air box.and also a flowmaster muffler in place of the stock.Just looking for better millege.Thanks.

I have a hemi so it may be different but I bought a stage one and got a bit of performance but no mileage and possibly less mileage. too early to tell but I know it isn't getting better. I put the AEM CAI on after and that helped in every direction except my foot got a bit heavier for a while. Has a nice sound and moves when the rpm's get up. Mileage up a bit

Also watching this one. Just installed the K&N CAI since its the only one available for the 4.7, and did notice a power increase. Might go with the Stage 2 since folks here haven't noticed much change with the Stage 1 chip.

I got the stage 1 for the extra mileage but I haven't seen it. I am giving it a couple more weeks and if nothing else changes I may just take it off.

I'm also curious what peolpe have to say about the stage 1 chip, I did however read on the Jet website that it requires the use of 89 octane fuel, that doesn't help if your trying to lower fuel cost.

I've seen a couple of threads of people promising performance reports after installing the Jetship 1 & 2. But once they install it, it is like the Bermuda Triangle... they vanish

That is why I am holding back on this mod. If I were to pay 300.00 for a mod, I want to see real results. I know at least 2 other XK owners that put this mod on hold because of the same.

I was interested in the Stage I on a V6. But nobody has reported results as of yet...

Well I had the stage 1 chip in a few weeks and didn't notice any mileage increase. I just pulled it out and will go a couple weeks without and see if the numbers are the same. Not scientific. I did not notice any mileage after puting it in, and now I will recheck without it to make sure nothing else changed. I had also put the AEM CAI on right after the chip. SO this will be the real test. The CAI did a lot more to improve performance than the chip did. I still have the stock exhaust. Makes enough noise for me and the CAI upped that to a nice growl. Th eonly problem is summer blend gas is startin gto show and that will increase mileage in its own right.

with the Hemi, intake, cat-back and stage 2, performance is really nice. I am very pleased. I imagine that those mods on the 4.7 would be very similar. As far as mileage - I got a good increase in mileage with the CAI alone. After adding the cat-back, mileage stayed about the same, but with more oopph. The stage 2 chip DID decrease the mileage, compared to intake and exhaust alone, but with the whole package of the three mods, mileage is better than bone stock. Anyway, I didn't get a Hemi 4X4 for fuel mileage..... I got it cause it goes WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

If you are strictly looking for MPG increase, go with the CAI only.

Thanks Hemi. What I am seeing supports what you say. I love the performance of this vehicle and thought if I could get even better performance and some mileage great. The chip helped a bit on the performance but doesn't seem to on mileage. The cai is just all around great. Ok not for water fording but something has to give. I love my Jeep!

I was in Canada on the weekend and they now have a special $4,000 gas guzzler tax on this. You have to like that socialist spirit. We''ll tax what you want out of your reach so you'll buy what we want you to have. Lenin would be so proud. Probably has something to do with that Kyoto treaty they signed.

The CAI really IS great ... It also adds a nice "wow" factor when you open the hood. It was my first mod on the bone-stock Commander. BTW, I have had zero problems with water getting anywhere near the intake.

Well it's been in for a while now and the jet stage 1 actually gives me less mileage. I have been using 89 octane fuel all along. I lost what I gained from my AEM cold air intake. That said I do like the performance it gives. throttle response is much better and you can feel the difference when you have to load it up. I'll be keeping it in but don't expect any gains if you decide to get one. Average 14.5 - 70 highway/30 city split. Highway at 70+

Try keeping your foot of the pedal and see if it improves... my guess is you either get more performance or more mileage, not both.

I also have the stage 1 4.7l.I only fell a little more power but no increase in fuel econemy.

I've gotten more power & mileage out of 4.7 with just the K&N 63 CAI and Gibson exhaust, so I'm not even going to bother with the add on chips. Sounds more like snake oil or the Tornado than anything else.

I think those chips are really programmed for Dodge engines for what I was reading. I don't think they are maximized for the XK. I believe they are just compatible.

I agree. I think the money spent could have been used for better improvments somewhere else. I will leave it installed as I like the power, but overall I would not recommend the purchase to someone who has not done it yet.

After having it installed for several months, I just removed my stage 2. I can now really tell the difference, it is very apparent now that it is out. much more tame, and a bit quieter. I took it out because I am taking the truck into the dealer for some service tomorrow. I can't wait to put it back in, I think it is a good improvement for the $200 I spent on it.
I would be dissapointed if it cost way more money, but I still think that it provides pretty good bang for the buck.

You are right rubicon about keeping off the pedal. That's why I waited a month to do the final test. At first it was just fun because there is a difference. I won't say I am glad I bought it but I also would not send it back. I guess the little extra nets out the cost but that's about it.
