I know it's not for the hardcore but she couldn't even get up our driveway in her Eclipse so we went and got her the Patriot Limited. Perfect for her needs and it gets 23 city, 28 hwy.

I've been thinking about the Patriot for my wife, but think she still prefers the Liberty. Right now she has the 2002. When she upgrades I'll be looking for something with traction control.

What happened to your bumpers?

Bumpers are off til I get something fabbed up. We liked the liberty also but she didn't really need as much clearance and we do a lot of traveling so the 28mpg highway really sold us. Took it up to 6" of snow last night with no problems at all, ESP works great. This one is FDI, got an incredible deal and she's not going to be offroading it so no need for the off road package.

This is the exact vehicle I'm pushing my girlfriend to buy this fall once she graduates college, only hers will be black. I should be done modifying the exterior of my jeep by then, so then I can focus on hers. His and hers blacked out Jeeps...it doesn't get any better than that.

We looked at a black on black but i'll be the one doing the upkeep. Keeping one black Jeep waxed and looking decent is time consuming enough. The silver we figured would be much easier to maintain. I might even let her wash it!

You are correct on this. My silver does a good job of masking the dirt, but not such a good job hiding the road salt. There have been threads on the size of the Commander - being a large SUV, but your pictures prove that it is not large, but more mid sized! Nice pictures and thanks for the post. :eek:rangehat:

Trust me, I understand exactly where you are coming from. I traded in my silver '10 Camaro for my '10 black Commander. I've had a black truck before, and although it is a little more maintenance on the detailing side, I absolutely love the incognito "stealth" look when it's completely blacked out.

I definitely agree that you should let (make) her wash it!

Awesome man!

We actually traded my pickup truck recently (to kill the payment) and I got my wife a 2008 Liberty Sport (then I took over the Commander :eek:rangehat:). When i was at the dealer I tried the Compass... but inside didn't feel like a jeep, so I opted for the Liberty. Won't be towing or offroading regardless.

I "let" my wife wash my trucks in the past... didn't work out too well because i'm a bit of a fanatic when it comes to that stuff (even though i hate having to wax them, but i do).

Wife had an '07 Limited for a few years before we traded my father for his Chrysler 300. Loved the Patriot, but needed a bit more room inside for the upcoming baby. :) Chrysler's back seats have a TON of room compared to the Patriot. But, still miss the ol' 'Riot.

Two Jeeps, that's a lot of washing and waxing! Especially after a muddy offroad ride. I like the Commander with the powerful V8 engine and the quiet interior. Imagine riding a terrain with a luxurious feel.
