Yesterday on my way home I realized that in my 2007 Commander was missing a lot of my normal options. My windows were not rolling up or down, my heated seats didn't work, my electric seat adjuster was not working, my sunroof was not working, and my lock/unlock was not working. I went and purchased some fuses and attempted to replace the ones that I thought would not be working....the fuse I tried to replace was not broken and when I put a new one in anyway it did not work!

Please help with any suggestions. I would like to try and avoid the dealership but my knowledge is extremely limited! I just want to use my windows, seats, sunroof, and locks! :ugh2:

As far as I know no other member here has had your problem. And I don't think we would be able to give you a price on the module. What is the exact name of the module ?

First thing to do is get your diagnostic trouble code (dtc) by the following method:
http://www.jeepcommander.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5689&highlight=getting+dtc
If a code shows up please post it and we can from there. If no code shows up it will read "done".
Most the control modules are easy to get at and replace. If you know which module it is I can show you the specifics of how to replace it, if it is a module at all.

Thank you so much for the assistance! My CODE READ DONE. I am assuming that is good but nothing works still!

Sounds like it could be the front control module- sits behind the battery, flat metal plate vertically. I would think you have to take this to the dealer or qualified mechanic at least for the evaluation. You can replace this easily enough with basic hand tools. If you find out which module it is and want to try to replace it on your own I can post the instructions with diagrams.

95 bucks to hook it up at my local dealer, this is more than just looking for dtc's. does not include the replacement - parts+labor. it is just the diagnostic. I would call around a find a good price in your area.

Not control module!

Well I took it to a small service repair place yesterday and he replaced a 40A Acc. fuse under the hood. Everything seemed to work after that except when he went to move the driver seat everything went out. Turns out there is a short under the driver seat. he unplugged the entire drivers seat and put another fuse in. Only Jeep can fix the drivers seat. For now all works except the drivers seat electonics and seat warmer. The problem with this is that not my airbad light is on because it is unplugged. I called Jeep and they said I am looking at a $300-$400 fix or a $600-$700 fix depending on a couple of options. What terrible news! Any other ideas?

I saw post 10 in this thread and thought of your situation, but if it is the seat now I would start looking for a wire that has been grounded due to a cut or pinch under the seat.

I've seen plenty of wires get crimped or broken from the movement. Especially the wiring that runs from doors to main body. Finding a grounded wire by the seat shouldn't take even a small shop longer than a hour to find. They already isolated the problem area so that really cuts the labor down. Good luck and welcome to the forum!
