If I install the K&N Filter kit in my commander, will that set any sensors off with the check engine light since there's more air flowing through? Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: k&n filter kit question

I've had it on for 3000K miles now, and haven't experienced any issue what so ever.
And no, the filter will not void the warranty, unless they can prove the filter caused something to happen. Very unlikely. Besides, almost every dealer sells K&N filters.

Re: k&n filter kit question

Can you post a link to the K&N filter your talking about? is it just the filter or is it a cold air system? Does it replace the factory filter box?

thanks,

AFAIK, the cold air system is still under development. They used my vehicle to prototype. They are just waiting for approval. Should be soon.

Thanks for the replies guys. Sycohemi, I'm holding out for the cold air kit. How do you get on the list for all the R&D stuff? Being in the right place helps I guess.

Re: k&n filter kit question

Just got done installing the K&N cold air kit. Directions where a little vague but it worked out ok. Drove about 1 mile to check for any instant on warning lights and got none. So it looks like everything is good.

The kit does make a little more noise under part throttle and that cool deep 1970's 4 barrel carb sucking sound at full throttle. That sound always reminds me of a state troopers car for some reason.;)

Pics to follow later.

I got mine off of eBay from this seller. It's just a stock panel filter replacement.

Hey INTREPER,

Is this the Intake system you were talking about or am I way off base?

Re: k&n filter kit question

I'm not trying to hijack anyones thread or anything. I wasn't to impressed with the k & N setup, so I went to JMBperformance.com. He's a friend of mine that made the intake as well as all the other things on my motor of my SRT-4. We fabbed the intake up today, and it should be finished, powdercoated, and installed by friday night, and I'll have pics to follow.
