I just ordered a K&N CAI (63-1545) for my Commander 3.7. The K&N tube hooks up to the stock "resonator". Has anyone modified this install by removing the stock resonator and replacing it with a tube straight into the throttle body? I see that the K&N for the 4.7 comes with this tube.....

Just asking?

Thanks for the reply......do you think it was worth the extra work?
Anything else that I should know before I commit to this?

I don't know if you'll necessarily have any performance gains from this mod, but I seemed to notice a bit more throttle response. Once I add a fastman's ported TB I should hopefully notice slightly more response.

The only thing you will most likely need to do is lengthen your IAT wire if you go w/ the Liberty intake, but you might be able to just fab up your own intake.. I spliced into the wire and used a 16 or 18 gauge wire to extend it to the new location.

i just installed the K&N CAI on my 3.7 and I hadn't even considered the Liberty elbow yet. it seems like a worthwhile investment. what is involved with extending the IAT wire? (I'm sorry I'm new to this...) do you have any pictures?
