Hi Jeep brethren:

I bought the aftermarket headlamp assemblies that are blacked out with the exception of the chrome reflector dish for eadh light.

I failed to realize that the headlamp lens is not clear but rather a smoke tint.

This cuts down the projected illumination from my standard bulbs.

I'm thinking if I upgrade to higher illuminescent intensity bulbs, I can counteract this dim situation.

Thinking that someone here has experience with LED replacement bulbs?

Do they work properly with the existing electrical circuit - meaning they don't cause faulty operation / codes?

Are there any issues I need to prepare for?

Are they truly higher light output?

If you have experience with them, please guide me to the proper bulb choice.

Note - not interested in upgrading to HIDs

@chaaz01;

I moved your thread to the appropriate sub-forum which is exterior modifications vice electronics/navigation; below is a thread you might be interested in; if you have any specific questions, let me know.

I will tell you upfront that while LED's are brighter, they don't have the quite the scope of coverage that the standard halogen bulbs have, meaning that the LED headlight beams have a brighter, but narrower, more focused cone of light if that makes sense to you.
