Hi All T here,
I have had Jeeps for over 50 years From a 1942 Willy’s, a CJ, YJ’s, a 78 Chief S and a few full size & Mid size Grand wagoner Limiteds
This is my first Commander a
2007 3.7 Full auto 4x4
I’ve had a Limp mode problem since I brought it home . Thinking an easy fix (not so)!
Dealer after dealer Hundreds of dollars closer to 2 k
Still no fix.
A web publishing about the the problem showed internal circuit board Issues Jeep/Chrysler Assembled these trans in US
Using Cheaper Mechanical circuit switches instead of the German better Electronic Hall type switches
Removal of Console top Gear Selector Stick under all this is the circuit Boad you will find it cover with Magnetic Dust shorting the circuit board system cause all types of False Codes Thur out the vehicle
Worst is the Limp Mode ( the truck won’t go above 2250 rpm’s about 30-40 mph)
Shifting Hard Settling in 2nd gear You can floor throttle won’t climb above 2250rpm ! You can shift into neutral and rev the engine to red line but in any heat selected back to 2250 rpms .
Stopping turning the engine off then restarting sometime fixes this problem . Usually short lived.
Jeep knows this is a flaw in design It should be a recall !!
Above is what has fixed it for me ,
After all ABS sensor were replaced Intake removed an re Gasketed plus a host of other Fuel system parts As per Code reports
Try this fix should fix a lot of electrical problems piggy back off this circuit board
Jeep Service will bleed you telling you it other things good luck

Hey man when you say below the shifter what does that mean? Can you give me any detail and tips? Pictures would be good if not just what you had to do to take out the shifter and to be clear the shifter bolts down to the frame if you will. So what I am asking is a clear coherent description of the work done. If possible?:)

Also when you say below are you indicating after pulling the shifter from the body? Thanks man appreciate it.
