I Messaged HueyPilot on this as he owns these and has a Mopar top case attached. I am interested in these bars because of the added weight capacity (80lbs vs. 150lbs) and the locking feature. They are much thicker then the standard Mopar cross bars.
I have a Yakima Space Booster box I want to put on top and a dealer over the phone told me he did not think the box would fit the bars. He was not sure. Anyone have these and try it? The box has these claws that go around the bar and a quick release inside the box.
Thank you.

I have the same bars, but not the box. Do you need measurements?

That would be great. Surprisingly I have not seen specs when I see this bar advertised. The guy I talked to was not sure. He thought they were about 2" thick. They look it from the photo but I am not sure.
What do you mount on the bars?

Thanks, Bob F.

49er, which do you use and what do you have attached? Appreciate the pics. I love the sport bars. Look really heavy duty to me. I pack heavy when I camp.

I use the OME bars with the Yakima mounts that came with the mega warrior.

I thought I might "pack Heavy" so I added an extra set of the OME bars for a total of four bars.

How much does the OEM bars support? I'm planning to get some OEM bars and prolly only use it for my canoe...You think the OEM bars will be able to hande 70lbs(canoe weight) plus maybe 50-100lbs of pressure from tie downs?

I was told the standard bars are rated for 80lbs. I believe that means apiece. The total weight would depend on how spread out the load was.

So in thoery, with a49er using 4 bars it can handle alomst double the weight of the stock rating.

That is the way I see it. 80 lbs liimit x 4 cross bars = 320 lbs dispursed evenly in the roof basket
