-2.5" inlet / outlet
-offset inlet, center outlet

That's what my V-6 needed, should be the same for all engines though.

What type of muffler did you put on??? I'm thinking of putting the flowmaster super50 SUV on there.
The muffler I'm runnin' is called the Thrush Welded exhuast. It sounds the same as a Flowmaster 44, at just under half the price. I am very happy with the sound, as it really improves the sound of the V-6, without being to "rice-y" or obnoxiously loud.

What engine do you have? As that really affects muffler options.

im running the 3.7L V6...Im also trying to stay away from that ricey sound. I like that deep sound the muffler could add.

Does any one know if the flowmaster super 44 still has an "off road" option? I can't seem to find it online..
Also while I got your here, is this the same for the 4.7 v8's as well:-2.5" inlet / outlet
-offset inlet, center outlet

Thank you :)

Bumping this back up.
Is 2.5" the correct size? Is that ID or OD?
What did you do about the mounting before the muffler. (the stock muffler mount) It looks like it bolts up to the exhaust manifold tubes. Do you just cut it off and slip the muffler over the tube or is there a after market mount to bolt it back on?
Or could you cut the mount off the stock muffler and weld/clamp it to the new one?
Which brings up another question. What clamps would you recomend?
I am not looking at a cat back system. I just need to replace the muffler.
I have not decided on which one. I would like something with a little better sound but not really loud.

When I look this size up on amazon it claims it will not fit my vehicle. I have a feeling amazon it wrong though. As far as I can tell the 2.5 in/out Offset in\center out will fit the 4.7
At least I hope so.
Well, I would trust Amazon's automotive compatibility feature the least of most, BUT, remember this is a "custom" muffler.

So, unless a part is a "direct" replacement, i.e. it was designed and does fit perfectly and bolts right, then it is going to say it "doesn't fit".

So, the muffler may actually fit in the space under the vehicle for the muffler (I don't know that for sure, but as an example) and fit the diamter of the pipes that already are there, BUT, there will NOT be the OEM exhaust hangars and you'll have buy custom adapters or fabricate your own, AND/OR it might not line perfectly with existing pipes or be the correct length and you have to add pipes, do some bending, etc.

I would visit Flowmasters website and see what they have to say about the Commander, as well, what they offer for adapters to fit one of the mufflers into your vehicle.

Another option is looking for an entire CAT Back system, that is pre-fabricated to fit your vehicle perfectly and bolt right in.

I just got a e mail back from Flowmaster. They said to use a 3" in the 50 series muffler. I ussume that is OD.
The also said the pipes on our Commanders are metric.

I recieved my Flowmaster muffler today.
50 Series, part #53056.
It has a 3" ID offset inlet and centered exit.
I will be welding this on.
If I remember a camera I will take pictures.

This is not the right muffler.
2 1/2" would work alot better.
I had to use a adapters to install it.
By the way Napa has some really nice adapter, They are alot heavier but are pricey.
Sorry no pictures I forgot the camera.
