Would love to get the input from those who attend EC Camp Commander. Are you interested in a National gathering?

hate to rain on the parade but that is how the Camp commander all started in the first place. It was originally discussed as an even for the whole group. BUT there wasnt anyplace centrally located that was suggested to be good for the group. and it was always too far for people from the coasts to come to one side or the other. THUS East side/west side camps were born. Im not saying it wont work. I like the idea. im just giving the heads up as to what will probably go on.

I think the best bet it to have some one see if souther MO or arkansas has jeep trails. its the only thing in the middle of the country that could work. Technically kansas was mentioned the first option but i know of one ORV park there but its 300acres and wouldnt take long to run most of it.its fun for a ONE-two day trip. but not a big event.

Here was the first thread where this was tried...of course it transitioned into the WC thread and the title was changed and few posts were inserted at the begining.

Everyone prepared to make a $100 non refundable deposit for KS Rocks Park for a national Commander event in 2012?

If so, post your name here.

Money will be used to secure reservations, prizes and a trip for me to go and check it out first. Ok, I am not going to do that.
The money will be used to fund deposits and prizes and other expenses (none personal)

I think in a park setting like this suggests that two days would be more than enough. I can see more time needed where there is a wider area to cover and more to see like WC Camp Commander has but this central location does not offer as much.

I was hoping for weekday events personnaly as there would be less traffic on the trails and members could travel on the weekend but I can live with it as I am more interested in the bigger picture (BIG group event).

My biggest question is HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED IN THIS IDEA? I would hate to see a lot of time go into planning if only 6 people wanted to show up.

Start with what your given and then ask for more...
