Looks like I will have to get some new tires before winter this year. I mainly do hwy driving to commute to work so road noise is something i want to pay attention to. I also would like a more aggressive tread pattern and a good looking tire. I like the Bridgstone Dueler Revo AT but just wanted to see if anyone had anything else to add as far as ride and looks. I am considering moving from the stock size to the other sizes that will work to fill up the wheel well or wider look (255/65R 17). Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I am running Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors and I have no complaints about them. They are a good all around tire.

I had the REVO's on the Commander this past winter and they were amazing in the snow and ice. They actually werent all that bad off road either. I definately recommend them.

So I am reading on other forums that the Revo's wear more quickly then expected and that they get noisy once they have around 20k on them. Maybe I should just stay with the stock tires.

Firestone Destination A/T P/245/ 70 R17 great tire and does not rub even without a lift. Road noise not an issue (they were actually designed to reduce noise) and they are a good all around tire. Good in snow, on highway and have cut, tear and abraision resistance for off-roading. I would suggest the Destination M/T for heavier mudding though. I am happy with my set.

Honestly you cant base everything off what you read on the internet. I also read a lot of reviews on the REVO's prior to buying them and a lot of them said that they werent that good of a tire. Especially in the snow. I decided to go with them anyways because PolarBZ has them on his commander and absolutely loves them. Not only that but they were one of the few tires that actually came in the size I was looking for. I had them on my Commander this past winter in Buffalo, NY and they were by far the best tire that I have ran in the snow. Definately better then BFGoodrich All Terrains that I have ran in the past. I had put a good amount of miles on the tires during the few months that they were installed and they still have a lot of tread on them. Id have to say somewhere around 90%. Im not exactly sure how many miles I put on them but they were swapped out for my Goodyear MT/R's with Kevlar since I wanted a more aggressive tire for off roading. As for road noise I didnt think they were loud at all. But sometires tires tend to get a little louder once they start wearing. I highly doubt you would even be able to hear the noise in the Commander as I can hardly hear my MT's inside.

Regarding tire sizes for stock setup, here's an outtake from a sticky on tire and suspension sticky that 07JeepXK put together earlier this year. You can find the whole posting in the stickies at the top of this section.

Stock Jeep Commanders or Commanders using the 1/4" leveling spacer can fit the following tire sizes WITHOUT wheel spacers and no rubbing:

245/65R17 (Stock Tire Size)
245/70R17
245/75R17 BFGoodrich All Terrians (might have minor rubbing)
255/65R17

I run the Pirelli Scorpion ATR's. I bought them because they are quiet. I put them on last July for a trip to Moab. These digs did great on the slickrock of Moab and logged about 80 miles off road. They have been in sand (beaches), and dirt roads, (logging type), never any deep mud and wouldn't even think about trying it. As far as the winter is I live in south eastern Geauga County, Ohio, heart of the snow belt and not uncommon to for us to see 12" plus of snow. Last winter we had a lot of ice and crud and they performed well. I have about 32,000 miles on them now rotated every 5,000. Wear has been good and I not even thinking about replacing them b-4 winter. I think I'll easliy get another 25,000 out of them. As I have said in earlier posts it will be hard for me to buy another tire after having these. Some users on tirerack.com complained about vibration problems. I haven't experienced any.

Yeah, I actually saved this in my phone so when shopping I know what to look for. I cant decide if i want to go wider vs taller for looks. I will look through the gallery and see if there is a noticable difference when looking at the truck.

I agree with Blackwater: Firestone Destination A/T

It's probably the quietest tire that still has a fairly aggressive tread. Take a look at reviews on Tire Rack and you'll be convinced. It's the highest rated All-Terrain tire on the site. I'm going to try and fit 245/75's on this week...I'll let ya know how it goes.

The Destinations do look like a great tire, but I just never got over my blowout with the Firestone Wilderness AT's. I had plowed with that tire in the 80's with my Chevy K10 4X4, had them on an 95 Explorer and put them on my 96 F1504x4. Blow out occured on the F150 front drivers side with my son in the truck at 5pm on a bridge in a curve. All worked out well....... 200 others died......

Quick update: I just got 245/75 R17 Firestone Destination A/Ts mounted last night, and I'm happy to report that there is absolutely no rubbing issues at all at stock height, no spacers, with splash guards. There is plenty of clearance for the bolt that causes everyone problems...After leaving the tire shop I sought out every steep driveway and speed bump I could find in the area, and never had an issue...I'll try to post some pics soon.

Please post the pics ASAP, I am looking to pull the trigger soon. If you could get under to see how close the tire gets to the "bolt" it would be greatly appreciated.

So I bought and installed the 245/70R17 in the Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2 AT. So far they are great and I have not experienced any rubbing. the only pics i have are pics that I have taken with my phone.
