I see Nerf Bars being advertised for the Jeep Commander, and they have emphasis that they are only to be used on Commanders with rear air.

Anyone have a clue why this is?

I have rear air, but I just wondered the reasoning.

Thanks!

The mounting hardware allows for the lines that run under the Commander to feed the rear air.

Does the third row get you air or is it a package? Just curious.
Having third row does not automatically get you rear air.

Where did you find the nerf bars?

I got my nerf bars from Auto Zone and my Commander does have rear air. It does make a difference on the passanger side front bracket wraps around the rear air ducting. The bars were around 210 I think. By the way... you will have to cut off about half an inch on the rear control arm bolts in order for the nerf bar brackets to fit depending on the manufaturer you go with.
