Hi folks. Just got this commander for $5k in Phoenix. Good paint. 170k miles but 1 owner and all maintenance done. Needs tires so I picked up 5 gladiator take offs for $100! Crazy deal I am going to lift it slightly so they fit. 245/65 vs 245/75. I think I will also use the new rims with a spacer but I do like the chrome also.
Any thoughts on what I should do first or add? Seats need some work on the leather with a few splits and a few other cosmetic things like headlights.

Very nice xk. You might want to keep an eye out though because the valves like breaking and dropping into the cylinder and tearing the piston up. We got one same year and motor and mileage and next thing we know it’s sitting because of that issue.

Awesome XK.... it's just like mine in every way save for the color. If you're planning to lift, consider a 2 inch lift to keep things simple and worry free. Much over 2 inches and things get more expensive and complex. Also, I have the RC 2 inch lift and run a 265 70 17 tire with minimal rub at full lock. Some here will argue this can't be done, however I've had this setup for 4 years now with no problems.

As far as that hemi, do all you can to insure she runs as cool as possible. You might consider installing a new radiator, water pump, lower temp thermostat, and hoses given the ones on your xk are most likely stock. Well, the water pump and thermostat have probably been replaced by now. The valve seat drop that '06 limited' referenced can easily happen, especially after an overheating episode and can run up to 6k$ to fix (like it did my for my brother's dodge 1500 hemi repair).

Keep an eye on the trans fluid temps as well. Again, keeping things as cool as possible will extend life.

Ok, enough of all that... go have fun with that beautiful Commander!

Thanks All. The previous owner replaced the radiator and water pump recently, so I think i am ok for a while there. Hopefully i can stay away from the valve issue. I dont plan to lift but it does have a leveling kit on it now in the front. I just installed new tires from a Gladiator which are new that I got for only $100 for all five, and am using some spacers to make it all fit from Spidertrax. Will post some new pics soon. The tires came with decent Gladiator rims but I dont plan on using them as i like the Chrome I think on this Jeep.
