Hey

Bought a 2009 commander 4.7 limited, no modification.
60,000 miles

I will get the 2in lift kit from rough country and replace the stock tyres 245/65R17 to 265/70R17 mud KM3

Usually I do sand or mud off-roading.

Is this upgrade enough for off-roading ?

For sand and mud, the RC lift and a wider tire should be more than adequate. The only area where the RC lift really starts to fall behind is crawling, because it doesn't provide the level of articulation an OME lift does.

Post some pics of your Commander when you can;

An '09 4.7L with only 60,000 miles is quite a find in this day & age; I'll echo what cbw said, that you should be fine with those planned upgrades for what you are looking to do; the 2 speed NV245 transfer case and the QT-II 4WD system is quite capable.

Interesting, I've got an OME kit going on - what makes it different from the RC that gives it a better level of articulation?

The RC kit is just a spacer thrown on top of stock springs and shocks, while the OME kit uses longer/stiffer springs to achieve the same level of lift. This means OME springs will compress further, meaning you can tuck your tires more. In addition, OME uses longer shocks, both front and rear; this won't contribute to much extra travel up front, but in the rear the longer shocks can allow for significantly more droop with the sway bar disconnected.
