Seeing is believing, I recently added a MagnaFlow freeflow muffler and a AEM Brute CAI for enhanced performance on my XK. When I had the exhaust put on I drove around the city and noticed that the reading was showing about 14.8 MPG. I really just thought it was a fluke but before the upgrades I was getting about 12.5 - 13.5 MPG.

Well eversince I've been monitoring my mileage more carefully and the reading is showing 14.8 - 15.5 MPG (city driving 40-60MPH) :D

I still don't believe the readings but I just thought I'd pass the info along to peeps who was considering a CAI and a free flow exhaust.

Oh btw, the exhaust sounds great. ( it seems like it's broken-in now, sounds so much better now when it was installed)

What was the model number of the MagnaFlow muffler you had installed?
What it just the muffler or the whole exhaust kit?

My XK has also a Magnaflow muffler on it and it sounds perfect. I love the deep aggressive sound of it.

I just replaced the muffler with the magnaflow #12586 and kept the resonator on. The muffler was about $80 w/ free shipping and $40 to get it welded.

I wonder how much the MPG would increase with the removal of the resonator.

Wouldn't even be worth it.
