Mattdog,

I'm a newbie too, so welcome! I had my fair share of fun with mine when I got it as well. This forum has been a huge help in gaining knowledge and tips on how to work on these rigs. Seems like its always on the list of projects, but, regardless of how much work it takes, its still fun!

Oh man... I don’t have a sunroof either, but no leaks. Wonder what would be causing it??? Maybe you’re onto something with the roof rack.

Hoping so I opened hatch window can't open hatch won't unlock.... And looked up and seen a puddle of water on the headliner in very back and my 3rd row seats are soaked. Pulled panel up on drivers floor to find a giant puddle up front to. Not on middle or front pass just driver and 3 rd row.... And now my speakera work again I'm scratching my head here lol...

Top it all off I asked few jeep guys I know and they all reply its a jeep thing lmao
I've heard that one a time or two myself :laugh2:

I know there are some drainage tubes on the models with a sunroof, so I would assume we have them too. I heard they get clogged or somehow get pointed into the cab. As far as the rear, that is a mystery to me. That is the first time I have heard anything about the back leaking.

Side view, it needs bigger tires and a lift bad. Lol ?
That's a stock Commanders biggest flaws - that and the gas mileage.

If Chrysler would have raised the Commander's ride height 2 inches and put 265/70/17's on them from the factory, they would have sold twice as many of them and they might still be in production today if they would have not cut corners in those 2 critical areas.

There is a way to open the hatch from the inside (even if it's locked I think). There should be an access panel from the indide that will allow you to reach in and get to the latch assembly. I have one out and will get you pics in a bit. It's a pain fumbling around without being able to see what's in there.

Welcome to the forums!

I remember seeing a thread, not sure if it was here or another forum, where some complained of rust around the roof rack, thus allowing water in where the bolts are. I’ll try and find it.
