To get the list of everything built into your Commander when built at the factory - have your VIN number (case sensitive) and go here Chrysler Build sheet - Equipment Listing Not necessarily for your signature but so you know what you have.

i'd stay with the 140. between the mounts, driveshafts, canbus, etc. unless you are looking to star in your own youtube show! just a lot of work for questionable gains. it does not seem to be a weak link

This is a forum requirement for membership;

That being said Jason, I'm making some educated assumptions here, based on the very limited information that you provided;

The NV140 transfer case is a single speed transfer case, which would indicate that you have QT-I 4WD;

Taking it a step further, that would also indicate that you have a 3.7L V-6 as your engine, as that's the only Chrysler/Jeep engine that I'm aware of, that ever came equipped with QT-I 4WD, from 2005, all the way through 2010;

So, the short answer is, YES, you need to replace it with the same NV140 single speed transfer case; Because that's the correct factory, OEM transfer case, that the 3.7L V-6 powertrain, in your 2007 Grand Cherokee Laredo is designed for.

Hope this helps.
