Core even admitted he entered late but I guess if the administrator allowed his entry I welcome the competition. I shouldve posted some different pics...

I agree its fun. It is nice to keep this forum alive and see how different the XKs are althought they are all the same. I was just calling it a competition being that in the end someone is a winner.

I think no matter what QD is better than QT and that 5.7 is better than 3.7. I think a nice set of aftermarket wheels is nicer then painting wheels. Picking wheels with the right backspacing is better then using spacers to get the same stance. LED taillights are better than stock. Bolt on style flares on the limited are better than the smooth. A cut bumper like Sals is better than stock but a guard is even better than that and of course a steel one like a49erfan's is the best. It all comes down to preference I suppose but all the Jeeps ever entered in this "friendly competition" can give lots of ideas to those customizing. I think the best custom vehicle comes from starting with the best stock vehicle. Congrats Core and good luck Jeff, enter again next month its tough to beat a couple of Hemi's but you have a really nice Commander.

It is all based upon opinion and yes I believe the HEMI is better than the other motors and QDII is better as well. But this is also a "pic" contest as well to show what your XK is and how you use it, better pics probably would have changed out come, maybe. But honestly besides QDII and wheels, Core actually has more mods than your XK does...

Like what? the skid plates and brush guard?

He has flowmaster I have Magnaflow. Airaid tube and drop in filter I have K&N CAI. Ranchos I have Bilsteins. Same lift, same tires (mine are bigger). Stock wheels and spacers and I have aftermarket wheels that give me 1.5" of extra backspace. Does he have a custom grille? LED taillights? Optima red top? Hawk brakes? painted calipers?

Some people don't care about LED lights or what brake pads you have. This isn't about adding up the number of mods you've done and claiming victory. I vote on looks first, "useful" mods (like skids) 2nd, and other mods last. Everyone has their own voting reasons so don't take it so personally. You have a very nice XK but side-by-side, Corey's has the looks & off-road capabilities mods that ultimately won my vote.

I'm not taking it personal. Just making it interesting. The only part that pissed me off is that the forum has rules and they are not being followed. If you dont follow the rules whats the point of having a contest. Maybe thats the military side of me though. We follow rules so everyone else can enjoy their freedoms.

While I agree that rules "should" be followed, there's always exceptions. This competition is for fun, not some high stakes where it might actually matter. That's the point..."fun". Maybe the competition is more "fun" by having 3 choices as opposed to 2... so does it really matter if that 3rd entry was less than a day late?

Might change your perspective a bit..... would you be as "pissed off" (your words, not mine) if Corey got 2 votes and you got 14? I have a feeling you wouldn't have cared if that was the case lol.

Me and my "sub par" (not even close) 3.7L will gladly take third because its not about flashing the amount of money and mods you have, it's about taking pride in your own jeep, as well as everyone else's. See you soon November ROTM.

Its not sub par, its just a different build (only 32% have Hemis). I am going with 4 Hella Micro FF's across the rough rail just like you did with your lights and would love to have your bull bar, Core's brush guard, or a steel bumper or something.

I just wish this thread had more entries, votes, and comments being that it only had 19 votes and over 250 views.

I have a friend with a 3.7L QT-I WK.....Let me tell you what, bring that WK of yours wheeling with me and you won't think its "sub par" after I show you some of the obstacles you can tackle. Sure it takes it bit more finess (and sometimes more momentum from the start)... but your XK is more capable than you think.

My friend with the 3.7L WK prefers to wheel that over his 4.0L TJ... just food for thought :beerchug:

I don't think its sub par, I was just saying what other people say. I would love to go wheeling, it's pretty flat here in northern Ohio so I have to travel to find some ground. I've been wanting to get up to the sand dunes, but haven't yet.

I was ROTM winner for 3 months this past summer (by default because no one else entered) and also tied in votes with 4 inch lifted HEMI XK in August. They gave him the win since I had been the winner the two previous months. No hard feelings on my end! You cant have two winners.

Like stated, this is nothing more than a photo contest where 99% of the time the winner has the best looking vehicle (which sometime's takes a lot of mods to stand out from other XK's). If someone were to take 3 pictures of a stock XK sitting in their driveway or a parking lot chances are they wont win.

Also, I dont think this photo contest has anything to do with what engine you have under the hood or if you have QD or QT. It's based off of appearance.

Lastly, Just because I dont have a HEMI with QD II doesn't mean my XK isnt as good as someone's that does. I have a 4.7 liter running 33's on a 2 inch lift with a locked rear end and I will bet money that my XK will make it down any trail a 2 inch lifted HEMI XK could and make it look just as easy.

I also have a friend that's running a 4 inch BDS lift on his 05 3.7 Liter WK with 3.73 gear swap and 33x12.5's that will make your jaw drop on the trails.

Congrats Core...My vote went out to you. Thats a nice looking XK you got there.
