Oh, BTW, it's mostly flat. Thats why I would always go to Colorado for the off road fun.

Well, wait, you said in the middle of the country, right? You cant have it in Colorado and the middle of the US at the same time! Or did you really just mean Colorado? Cause that's where you want to go??? Well, fine! Go to Colorado! Have fun in the mountains!! HUMPF!!!

I think it's best to go for the closest to the middle that has off road friendly areas.

No offense to anyone that lives in Kansas, but I lived there for a while and I left every chance I had... Too flat and way too hot.

And I certainly didn't mean to sound like CO or I would not go, I will go to KS if that is where everyone is but I would like to go off road on the same trip if possible :) We can start a new thread so as not to hijack this one for possible jeepcommander.com 2009 summer trip if anyone is interested in putting something together this early.

Colorado does have some fantastic off-roading. And we loved living there because we have family all over the country and Colorado seemed very central to everything.

Hey boss, if you are referring to my post, I didnt intend to suggest that....just poking fun.....I have never been to either so I would benefit from both because I would have to pass through KS to get to Co and a couple other states!

Most I've ever driven for a gathering was about 1100 miles. Drove straight through, overnight from 9pm til about 2pm the next day, from Baltimore to Miami.
