I've had a general discussion thread going for a while about a never ending front end clunk in my commander.

Seems to only happen in potholes when the suspension extends downward suddenly.

I just noticed this evening that with the jeep supported by the frame and the front end all the way down with tire off that my shock clevis bolt really has no tension on it and slides right out.

Could the shocks be too short and are clunking when fully extended?

Thanks!

With an OME lift you have not added suspension travel. The IFS front end is still limited in droop. If the clevis bolt has no tension on it @ full droop then the shock is NOT the limiting factor.
