Many of us have noticed this flaw. It's one that drives me a bit nuts because it's so avoidable.
There's mention of a TSB that should correct this problem on the forum somewhere. It repositions the sensor or at least the wiring, apparently, to get it away from the radiator and/or the auxiliary (transmission) radiator mounted on the front of the main radiator behind the grille. Duh...could it be that simple?
I'm going to bring it up at my next oil change at the dealer.
