I have recently bought a beautiful 2007 overland IN BLACK

I love the black but of course it gets scratched easily

when I got it there are scratches all over the hood, like it was parked in the garage and stuff was stacked on the hood then pulled of.
not deep but enough to leave white scratches everywhere

what is a good fix other than painting and care to keep the black fresh

Beautiful Jeep. I really like the grille cross-hatch detail. Meguiar's has a great write-up on how to prevent scratching the clear coat when washing and waxing it. Visit their site and have a look; they have lots of good tips. Welcome to the forum.

I just picked up a black commander and it looks like they dragged a lot of bags off the roof rack. I picked up the turtle wax black box and was really impressed with the test I did. It almost completely made the scratches disappear. I am going to give it a good clean and maybe clay bar it then do a full polish and wax with the black box.
