Does the 2006 4.7 V8 have a PCV valve? The service manual lists one, but I don't see it anywhere on the oil filler tube.

PVC Valve

Dealer said it needs to be serviced at next oil change 44K. I thought they either worked or didn't work and had to be replaced? I looked under the hood, but did not see it. They want close to 60 bucks to service, can't imagine that it costs anything close to that. Any info would be helpful.

You're right they work or don't work and they are a very inexpensive part. They can get gummed up, and you could just clean them by soaking them in gasoline. But the spring itself could fail and no amount of cleaning is going to repair that. I'd replace it.
Back in the day, I'd do it myself, now a days, I lift the hood and I can hardly find the 710 circle thingy.

My mistake, I looked at that for along time, just knew it should be PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation), but PVC sounded more framiliar And thanks Jeep5253 for the detailed reply
