I'm preparing to install a Rough Country/Crown spacer lift. Upon completion, is it required to immediately get an alignment done? (I'm not sure if it whacks out the front end geometry.)
Also, when upsizing to 265/70-17's have you went up to load range E tires or just maintain the load range C's?
Thanks in advance!

I just did my 2 inch lift and although the wheels looked straight and it drove ok it was definitely off when it was aligned. I used the same size tire and stayed with load range C so the ride would'nt be drastically altered. It drives the same as it did before only higher.

Yes, it is suggested to immediately get the alignment done. You'll cause uneven wear on your tires if you wait too long.

Thanks for the replies. My concern is a 20-30 miles drive between tire shop & alignment shop, but It seems I should be ok.
Can anyone report on their drop in mpg after lift & tire install?

~2" lift before and after alignment specs:

Get it done. You're vehicle will handle worse, and tires will wear improperly if you don't.

Oh that should be fine. I drove on it about a week before I could get it aligned.

I didn't see a noticeable difference in MPG post lift/tire change.

My speedo is off by about 3 1/2 MPH though.

Hey, Big Blue, I know you are proud of your Commander, most of us here are proud of ours, too. But that is a very annoying signature you have and it violates the Forum's rules on signatures. It would be nice if you would use a smaller pic to make it conform to the rules. Also, text is limited to 2 lines if you use a pic in your signature. Thank you.

Funny you should mention that jeep5253, no forum moderator - or any other user on this forum has ever complained about it since I've been here.

That being said, in the interest of keeping the peace, I resized the photo in my signature for you.

As far as the rest of my signature goes, unless a Moderator/Administrator of this forum tells me otherwise, it will stay "AS IS" and you will just have to deal with it.

You always have the option of turning the signatures feature off, if it's such a source of irritation for you.

Have a good evening.
