Can anyone tell me where I can obtain a rear diveshaft for a 2006 Commander with a V6 other than the dealership? I just replaced the front and I' sure the rear will follow soon since the u-joints can't be replaced. I thought there was a post about an aftermarket driveshaft but can't locate it now.

Thanks
Paul

Fort Wayne Clutch and Driveline or Carolina Driveline. Just Google

Look under Grand Cherokee as they are the same or call them. I put in a Fort Wayne unit on my Commander a couple of months ago. It is well made and serviceable. Price is right as well.

It is possible to force out staked U-Joints, and stake in the new ones. But no one has done it for a Commander yet, so the first would have to do some experimenting and figure out the correct sized U-Joint to replace it with.

But there is no guarantee you get them in right and centered perfectly. As well, the slip yoke in the center section can wear, there is no replacing that.
