i just weighed my commander

total: 5320 lbs
front: 2860 lbs
rear: 2460 lbs

i think on the rear 200 ft-lbs would be good. on the front i think 250 ft-lbs would be good. i'm going to do some more research on calculating spring rates.

You must have some big bathroom scales.

I'll measure the rear OME springs tonight if you want. That would give you a good idea of # coils and rough size.

To make it easy why dont you just order two of the springs from OME?

okay some measurements.

Front coils:

Wire Dia.: .6875"
Coil Dia.: 5"
Number of Active Coils: 6
free coil lenght: 12"
compressed calculated: 5.5"

Rear:

Wire Dia.: .625""
Coil Dia.: 6"
Number of Active Coils: 4
free coil lenght: 13"
compressed calculated: 3.75"

Front Rate Calculated:

652.85 inch/ pounds
54.4 foot/ lbs

Rear Rate Calculated:

345.45 inch/ pounds
28.75 foot/ lbs

this seems a little low. what do you think. another factor i do not have is the type of spring material used.

No load measurements, all coils counted. I'm guessing "active" means the coil is not in contact with pad, so -2 from my #'s.

OME 993 (rear)

7 coils
13.25 inches tall
7 inches wide (outside to outside)

OME 991 (front)

10 coils
14.25 inches tall
5 inches wide (outside to outside)

cool. i'll see if i can figure out their spring rate.

do you have the diameter of the wire, the diameter of the coil material. i need that one as well.

thanks

.625 wire

Might be off by a fuzz, but that is close.
