Removing the oil pan on the 3.7 2wd Commander

I heard this was a daunting task. Everything went smoothly for me in getting all the bots off without lifting the engine. My problem is trying to get the pan itself off. I read through some threads but didn't see anyone explicitly explaining how to do so. If I missed those, please point me in the right direction. If not, can someone help?

This should help, this video is for a Commander with the 3.7L V-6 4x4;

The fact that this Commander has 4WD, has no bearing on the part of the job that you're interested in, which is how to get the oil pan off.

He also had some pretty good tips, about letting the RTV harden somewhat, before you try & put the gasket back on.

Thank you for this. After fighting it for a couple of hours, I ended up getting it off and separated. Aside from the video, can I reuse the pan, or is it better to get a new one? If a new one is recommended, are there any better aftermarket ones? Lastly, a couple more questions: can I use carb cleaner to ensure the engine is clean enough for the new gasket? Does the new gasket need an additional sealant, or do I place it on there, and that's it?

As long as the pan is in decent shape - no rust or dents, there is no reason why you can't re-use it.

Make sure clean all the old ATV & gasket material off of it.

I saw it fully. He shows to add gasket around the pre-existing gasket.

LOL! I re-watched it again. I saw that. So, he puts on a tiny bit of silicon on both sides and lets it dry. Maybe do one side first and then the other.
