Does anyone have the RC 1.5" wheel spacers? They are cheaper than the Spidertrax ($99 pair) at only $60 a pair. They say they are hub centric, but not sure about wheel centric. Is that a problem.

I have 255/70/17 General Grabber AT2s on my Commander now. I am getting a little bit of rubbing at full lock. Wondering if spacers will fix this or if it will push the tire closer to the wheel well liner at full turn.

You should use wheel and hub centric spacers. Spacers will not help the rubbing. You need to do the pinch weld mod for the rubbing.

Well, I ordered the RC spacers for a total of $119. Had the guy that did my RC lift add the spacers and do the pinch weld mod based on instructions I found on this forum. Instead of heating up the wheel well liner to re-shape it, he followed the latest recommendation and used two self-tapping screws on each to pull the liner nice and tight to the metal.

It turned out very nice. Makes the jeep look very aggressive with the General Grabber AT2s. The ride seems smoother to me because of the wider stance. You seem to float over bumps. No rubbing at all at full lock.

Really happy with this change. Hoping they stay balanced.

Here are a few pics showing how much this improves the look.

I much prefer the wider stance on mine as well.

I was just browising for a good price on Rough Country #RC 1091 spacers $68.88 shipped (hub centric design; 6061-T6 aluminum; corrosion resistant) and thinking they could be a good option, over the Spider Trax 1.5" spacers that are $99.00 shipped.

But then read 2 reviews about wheel studs breaking on them. Has anyone else heard of any issues with breaking wheel studs?
Is this more often then not "user error" from not using a proper tightening sequence and a torque wrench?

More often then not it absolutely is user error. I would double check torque on them after a week or so of driving initially and then every time you do an oil change just to be sure.

I had a stud break on a wheel with no wheel spacers. Shop didn't use a torque wrench.

It seems lack of using a torque wrench is often the culprit. It always annoys me when you watch a garage mechanic use an impact wrench to install and over crank wheel lug nuts onto a car.
I have never seen a local garage snug them by hand then evenly torque them in place. Its crazy when you have to use a helper bar to get the lugs loose not to mention all the other problems that it creates.

Been running the RC spacers for a few months now and have had the wheels of 3-4x and not a single issue with the studs.
